January 2013

This last Sunday, I woke up absolutely certain that I had to rejoin Weight Watchers. In spite of the fact that I knew that my body was in better shape than it had been for a long time, and in spite of the fact that I'd been exercising quite regularly, if not intensely... my weight was continuing to creep up, and up. It has caused (and continues to contribute to) a discouragement that I've only recently begun to admit is actually depression. So anyway, I joined Weight Watchers on Sunday morning , and when I had my first weigh-in on Wednesday, not only had the scale stopped climbing, it had actually gone down nearly 4 pounds! That was happy moment number 1.

Happy moment number 2 happened just a few minutes ago, when I finished a workout on my treadmill that used to be impossible for me. Then I got in good shape, and thought it was easy, and then I stopped doing it all together--for several years. Now I've been exercising quite a bit lately, but I honestly never dreamed I was in good enough shape to finish that workout, especially at this weight. Apparently, I am!!!!

  1. Way to go. I know that feeling of getting back to a place you're feeling good. You're inspiring me to get working out too.

    Cheers
