What's Up Wednesday--In 250 Words or Less

What's Up Wednesday is a blog hop created by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk as a way for writers to connect with other writers. You can join by using the link on their website.

What I'm Reading

I am rereading Mockingjay. Yesterday I read Catching Fire, and the day before that I read the Hunger Games. Such good stuff.

What I've Been Writing

Nothing. :(

What Works For Me

This isn't super healthy emotionally, but I use it when the things coming out of my brain aren't very pleasant: I fill in all the cracks with reading. After a while, I might start daydreaming and then writing again, but sometimes life is too intrusive for daydreams. It's never, ever too intrusive for a good book.

What Else Is New

People are reading my books! I didn't realize I knew this many people who hadn't already read Alchemy. I have strangers coming up at the grocery store and at work to tell me that we're connected by a friend of a friend, and that they just bought Alchemy and Prophecy of the Six. My almost 12 year old is reading it on her kindle, and she's at 82%!!! This is both freaky and scary. But awesome. I live in an incredibly supportive community. Now if I could convince them all to write reviews...

  1. Eee congrats on the readers. And I love rereading THG series. So much more that you see the second or third time around that you didn't catch. All the little references to later books etc! Have a great week!

  5. I should really reread the hunger games trilogy as well to refresh my mind before watching Mockingjay in a couple of weeks (I know I'm late to the party). I love daydreaming, and when I'm at a loss, reading helps me get through the writing block. Have a great week!

  6. It's so cool to hear from people who've read your books! I hear you on the reviews thing. I have to ask constantly and then I feel like I'm pestering people.

Reading a good book is a great way to recharge your writing motivation. Have a great week! :)

  8. Great that you heard from people reading your books! I understand how it must be scary too though. I'm sorry to hear you didn't write anything though, and I hope you can find some inspiration this week.

Good luck on your writing goals for this week! I don't dare to look at my NaNoWriMo manuscript. It's so messy. Your idea of leaving notes for yourself sounds smart though, I probably should've done that too.

    My What's Up Wednesday post.

  9. I haven't reread the Hunger Games books in over a year, so I'm probably due sometime soon. I've been itching to just read and read and do nothing else for a while now. I like to fill in the cracks with reading too. That's awesome that people are reading your books! What a great feeling that must be. Hope you have a wonderful week! :D

  12. I think concentrating on a book for a while is a great way to get yourself into a better mindset. Sometimes life is stressful and we just need a bit of escapism to get us back on track. So a big thumbs up on that! Glad to hear you're building a fan base! That's awesome!:)
